1. PayPal Begins Supporting Over 100 Cryptocurrencies
PayPal has started supporting more than 100 types of cryptocurrency transactions with the aim of facilitating overseas transactions and activating its own stablecoins. PayPal announced in an official statement on Jul. 28 that it will link the PayPal app with Coinbase Wallet, Metamask, and OKX to support transactions of major altcoins such as Bitcoin(BTC), Ethereum(ETH), XRP(XRP), Solana(SOL), and Tether(USDT).
2. US SEC Postpones Announcement of Truth Social Bitcoin ETF Review..."Sept. 18"
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) on Jul. 28 extended the announcement date of the approval review of the Bitcoin Exchange Traded Fund(ETF) applied by Trump Media & Technology Group(TMTG), a media group owned by U.S. President Trump. The SEC explained that additional time is needed for the document review, and said it will extend the announcement date of the approval review from Aug. 4 to Sept. 18.
3. Global Investment Broker Interactive Brokers "Ready to Launch Its Own Stablecoin"
Global investment brokerage Interactive Brokers is preparing to launch its own stablecoins after passing the U.S. stablecoins regulation bill last month. Reuters reported on Jul. 28 that Interactive Brokers is pushing to launch its own stablecoins for the purpose of efficient global investment brokerage, based on the testimony of sources.
